General Audience: General audience programs include dynamic arrangements of popular music, jazz, ragtime, marches and original repertoire for brass. One of the members, trumpeter Sarah Storms, doubles on bagpipes to present amazing arrangements for brass, bagpipes and percussion. For the past ten years the group has presented “Brass and Bluegrass,” an entertaining, audience pleasing program that includes brass with some of the United States’ leading bluegrass performers. General audience programs are tailored to meet the taste and expectations of your audience.

Programs for Art Music Connoisseurs and Academic Environments: The brass quintet is a rather young performance genre with a history that extends back less than 60 years. Trumpeter Dr. Bill Jones is considered to be one of the leading researchers in brass chamber music and is the director of the International Brass Chamber Music Festival. Programs for academic environments focus on original repertoire for brass quintet, quartet, and trio and transcriptions of early music that was composed for the forerunners of the modern brass. Even though this repertoire is new, Jones has documented that over 1100 composers have written music for the brass quintet with total compositions numbering over 1600. These works were all composed after the modern brass quintet was invented by the New York Brass Quintet in the early 1950’s. Presenters can program concerts and master classes that provide an exciting trip through the history and music of the brass quintet.

Ceremonial Occasions: The King Street Brass is able to accept a limited number of engagements for church services, weddings, graduations, and other types of ceremonial occasions. The group has performed highly successful fund-raiser concerts for a number of music organizations.

Master Classes and Seminars: The following classes/seminars are available, usually when the group is in your area performing: Educational classes for young performers, beginner through college age; Classes and seminars on brass repertoire for college teachers and students; Seminars for churches designed to support and enliven the existing programs; Music and creative motion; Community seminars (how to establish a community music school, music non-profits, and micro-cultural community arts centers).
